MESSAGE FROM ANDY HUNT

My children go to Raddlebarn School in Selly Oak. The school has been amazing for our children, particularly my son who was bullied at a previous school. The staff are outstanding, but the playground is grim. I’m helping the Friends of Raddlebarn School raise awareness of our funding bid for a £10,000 award for a new outdoor classroom & shelter.

I’m nagging/pleading/begging for your vote, not your money! If you could spare a couple of minutes to vote for our bid we really stand a chance. Voting is easy and absolutely every vote counts. You can use your email or Facebook login.

You can change it at the Exchange

There’s a chance for young people to win a years membership at the Moseley Exchange to help you get started in business; the perfect space to start a new venture. We want to help young people living in Birmingham to launch ventures that can help solve social problems in the City.You provide the inspiration; we provide a place and the support to make it happen.Moseley Post Office has joined up with Moseley Community Development Trust (CDT) and are seeking to resolve social problems through social enterprise activity.  Therefore, we are looking for young people with a social mission, an enterprising solution and an understanding about how to deliver their ideas. There are three memberships available for young people (18-30) who have inspiring proposals for tackling social problems.

Co-working really does work!

Moseley Exchange co-working members, The Food and Drink Events Company and Clarity Comms team up for #EnglishWineTakeover.

Amy Seton (Food and Drink Events, a specialist event management agency), Lucy Kemp and Jason Navon (Clarity Comms, a digital communications agency) have been collaborating with English Wine Producers to bring a new festival to the city during English Wine Week in May. The #EnglishWineTakeover is a series of events that will draw on the expertise of both companies to showcase the talents of a number of English Wine Producers from around the country.
The two businesses have been working side-by-side for over a year after Amy convinced Lucy to move to the Exchange after meeting at a networking event in the city. She thought that co-working could have a positive impact on their business.
Amy says: “It’s fantastic to be able to work on such an exciting project with Lucy and Jason and create a new event for wine lovers of the city to enjoy. I have been based at the Moseley Exchange for over three years now, and collaborations like this are exactly what co-working is all about. It’s an exciting time for both our businesses and there will be many more collaborations in the future.
The #EnglishWineTakeover’s headline event is a Producers Festival at The Bond, Digbeth on Saturday 23rd May. Producers from across the country will be travelling to Birmingham to show off their wines. Some of the biggest names in English wine production will be in attendance alongside the smaller producers. For £15 attendees will be able to try a number of different wines, from red, white, rose, dessert and, or course, sparkling. There will also be a canal-side Nyetimber Bubbly Brunch and an afternoon cream tea, produced by fine-dining street-food newcomers, Fybin and Loin.
 
Other tasting events taking place during the week will be: English Wine and English Cheese Tasting – Hotel Du Vin on Friday 22 May. And England Vs The World – how do our grapes stack up – at Loki Wine on Tuesday 26th May.
