Digital Storytelling Project – Moseley

We have been working with the ‘Creative Citizens‘ to capture stories of Moseley. We are inviting local residents, people who visit, previous residents or people who spend/spent some time around Moseley to contribute a short story about Moseley to form the beginnings of a media co-creation project ‘Exchange Stories’.

We had three days of amazing digital storytelling training from Lisa and Iain at StoryWorks UK. There were three representatives from the Moseley Exchange- Myself, Maria and Annette- taking part in the workshop along with Caroline & Tamara from the Creative Citizens Network, we all found it to be both informative and inspiring.

Digital storytelling can be utilised in a number of ways. We are exploring a number of story sharing options to compliment and lead up to the eventual online and offline unveiling of the completed digital stories via both a website and printed representations of the contributions.

We have captured a number of stories from our coworking members and tenants. There were also some interesting stories that were captured when the community approached us at our stall on the street fair! We are still keen to hear from anyone who hasn’t yet given their story. However insignificant you might think your story would be-we would love to hear from you. As I found when I was training, even when you think you don’t have a story, speaking with people helps you to realize that actually you do!

Please contact myself or Maria @Moseley Exchange if you would like to find out more or to arrange a time to share your story. These stories will enable participants to engage with what Moseley and the Moseley Exchange means to them personally, professionally and socially.

We look forward to hearing from you!
