‘EXCHANGE’ Art Exhibition

Open 6 September-28 October 2016 –

CHAS@Moseley Exchange

In their latest exhibition, seven CHAS artists share new, original works exploring the theme of Exchange. The artists are Ruth Judd, Jane Spence, Eleanor Parkes, Wendy Palmer, Alex Clark, Patrik Kuziel and Matt Gale.

CHAS is a Birmingham artists’ group that grew out of a project called Cannon Hill Art School, conceived by Birmingham artist and curator Trevor Pitt. 72 artists came together for three months to share ideas and support one another, culminating in a summer exhibition at mac Birmingham last summer.
The central tenet of CHAS is that members learn together and from one another, exchanging knowledge, ideas and technical skills.

The second element of the exhibition is a CHAS postcard exchange project with the Preston Street Union artists in Exeter. Their work responds to CHAS postcard-scale artworks mailed to them in May and exhibited as part of Art Week Exeter 2016.

Hall Green Art Society

We are a community group of people  who enjoy painting and are interested in art.  We meet twice a month at the Church of the Ascension, Hall Green.  The first meeting is a demonstration or illustrated talk by a professional artist; the second meeting is practical.  We then take our own gear and do some activity related to the previous demonstration.
Among the events in the last year, we have had demonstrations of the portrait, watercolour and acrylic landscape, still life, seascapes in oil, clay sculpture and printing.
We hold two exhibitions a year, usually showing about a hundred pieces of work by around twenty artists.  They are watercolour, acrylic, oil, pastel and textiles, so plenty of variety.
We are always pleased to welcome interested new members.

The Moseley Exchange

Sigmund & Jocelyn Fine Art

Opening day 5th February 18:30 at the Moseley Exchange.

Sigmund & Jocelyn deal in fine art from the last two centuries. We are based in B14 and since setting up in 2013 have exhibited in Digbeth, the city centre and Kings Heath. We’re looking forward to bringing a few of our more modern artworks to the Moseley Exchange  –  including a dramatic etching of Spaghetti Junction and a couple of woodcuts by Alfred Waldron. There’ll be an opportunity to see a selection of 19th-century drawings too. Full details of our range of paintings and prints can be found at www.sandjfineart.co.uk – together with details of our framing service.
