Take the headache out of Self Assessment at Moseley Exchange!

Are you about to spend the festive season worrying about your online tax return because you just can’t face it doing it yet? You’re not alone, so why not join other people in the same position to help take the headache out of Self Assessment the right side of Christmas this year?

We know how tempting it is to put these things off until the last minute, but we also know how much of a relief it can be to get them out of the way. So, on Thursday 12 December, Moseley Exchange is inviting people to join us in our coworking space to work on their online Self Assessments together.

It’s a great chance to sit in a friendly and supportive environment away from the distractions of home, to carve out a time when you can focus on tidying up your taxes for the year.

This is not a workshop or advice session, so you will need to make sure you are set up to file your Self Assessment tax return online, and to bring all the documents you may need (see ‘Before You Start on page 1 of this pdf for a list).

And while we can’t advise on your tax return, we will have someone on hand to help you solve any issues you may encounter as you navigate your Self Assessment.

The event is free, so it is also a great chance to try out our warm and friendly coworking space. Wifi is provided, and so is tea and coffee. Just bring your laptop and any documents you will need to complete your tax return.

We want you to have a great festive season, so join us on 12 December and take the headache out of Self Assessment this year so you can enjoy it to the full!

Christmas starts this weekend in Moseley!

We’ve had a bit of snow to herald in the season, and now Moseley will crank the preparations up a gear this weekend with a flurry of seasonal markets to meet your Christmassy needs, including a mammoth two-day fair right here at Moseley Exchange – putting Christmas shopping in the heart of Moseley.

It’s the last Saturday of the month so the fabulous Moseley Farmers Market will festoon the village centre as usual. Fill your fridges and freezers with artisanal delights from meats, cheeses and vegetables to drinks, pies and sumptuous cakes.

Likewise, Moseley Arts Market will take up its celebrated place across the road, with artwork, ceramics, jewellery and a host of other handcrafted wares ready to be stumbled upon.

Just behind the Farmers Market, St Mary’s Church is holding its annual Christmas Fair (10am-2pm). The Grade II listed building has stood in the heart of Moseley for more than 600 years; step inside on Saturday and you will find Santa’s Grotto, a raffle, stalls of jams, books, cakes and crafts, and – as you would expect from any self-respecting church – a range of refreshments.

But, of course, Christmas shopping in the heart of Moseley would not be complete without a visit to the weekend-long Winter Arts Fair here at Moseley Exchange.

There will be 58 different makers to explore over Saturday and Sunday – and each day will be different! Find gems from local illustrators, glass-artists, ceramicists, artists, jewellery-makers and more.

And if you’re visiting us on the Saturday, you can also discover a host of work celebrating 60 years of local artists in a special exhibition on the ground floor!

See you at the weekend!

New exhibition of local artists

The Hall Green Art Society is holding an exhibition of local artists here at Moseley Exchange on Saturday 30 November.

The Hall Green Art Society was founded in 1964 by Harry Smith and continues to be a vibrant and welcoming community for artists of all backgrounds and skill levels.

Harry was a professional printer and an accomplished artist, and established the society to provide a space where individuals could gather to paint and discuss their artistic pursuits. He was known for his passion for oil painting, and was dedicated to fostering a supportive environment where members could share and develop their talents.

Over the years, the society has grown in size and reputation, drawing individuals who are enthusiastic about art and eager to learn from one another.

Today, the Hall Green Art Society remains committed to its founding mission of fostering a creative and collaborative space for artists. The society offers a dynamic programme that caters to artists at all levels, from beginners to seasoned practitioners.

Each session alternates between practical workshops, where members can hone their own skills, and professional demonstrations led by experienced artists. These sessions cover a wide range of techniques, providing invaluable insight and inspiration for attendees.

The Hall Green Art Society is an inclusive group that values creativity, learning, and community, and welcomes artists of all ages and abilities. New members are always encouraged to join, whether to explore a newfound interest in art or to refine existing skills.
